Are you planning a family party soon?  We have entered Spring, and after a long cold winter being stuck inside, what’s better, then throwing a party and getting together with family and friends to celebrate?  Need a reason to celebrate other than surviving  the winter doldrums?  How about turning up the celebration for a graduation or communion party?  Or hosting a Memorial Day Party?  Overwhelmed at the thought of hosting a party?  No worries.  We’ve created a cheat sheet to help you plan a successful party that will have everyone talking about.

  1. What are you celebrating?  While you don’t need a reason to throw a party, it certainly can help to generate enthusiasm with your guests and help you with creating the decor.
  2. Who are the lucky guests?  Sounds simple enough, but truth be told you need to know what age group  you are appealing to for entertainment and music purposes.

  • Food!  This is probably one of the most important decisions you can make.  People love to eat and True-Cuisine_Company-Picnic-Catering-4depending on what type of party and the time of your party makes a huge difference in what you should serve, whether it be a mix of orderves and snack foods, or a full meal. Start pricing catering companies like True Cuisine & Sweet Baby Ray’s Catering for a stress free approach to your party, or take the economical route and check into your local grocers or wharehouse stores to see if you can get a better deal in bulk.  Either way, you need to make sure you have plenty of food to nibble on for your guests.

  • Seating/Shelter  While it’s important to account for your guests and make sure everyone feels comfortable, you still want to encourage mingling and movement.  Hopefully not everyone will be seated at the same time, so don’t worry if  you don’t have a chair for every person attending.  If you need additional chairs, but don’t have the budget to purchase or the space to store them, check out our chair rental options.  Do make sure you have different areas of interest set up to encourage movement.  If you are planning an outside party it is always nice to have some type of shelter to keep off the hot rays of the sun, or a place to duck if  it should happen to shower!  We have a variety of tents to choose from, including a 10×10 frame tent which is perfect for small backyard parties.  We take away the stress by properly setting up your tent with no worries and taking it down afterwards.

  • Involvement.  Guests are more inclined to mix, mingle, and have a good time if there is some type of activity or interactive game encouraging participation. Classic favorites are volleyball, baseball, horseshoes all of which we have at AMJSE as rentals.  How about adding something a little different and having Badminton?  This is a great activity and no fuss to you as we set up and take down!
